The goal of AstraZeneca Lab of the Future challenge was to reinvent the way you handle liquids.
During the 3 day hackathon, the teams controlled the Opentron Pipetting Robot with Cameras, turned a regular CD Drive into a centrifugal force lab on a chip, experimented with electrovetted microfluidics and even created a the Personal Protein Printer (winner of the science award), that was meant to enable to assemble proteins without the use of custom DNA. All it needed was customized tRNAs that can be inserted on the plate and washed away after. |
